Our Lady of Yaroslav Russian icon 18x14 cm.Russian orthodox icon 100% made and hand painted according to the principles of the Byzantine-Russian school depicting Our Lady of Yaroslav.It is an 18x14 cm religious icon in solid linden wood covered with gold leaf and is the reproduction of the original icon which dates back to the 15th century.It can easily be understood that we are talking about the iconographic type of Tenderness, the Madonna and Child are in fact depicted with their cheeks next to each other, in a gesture of affection.With one hand, the Child holds on to the mantle of the Mother who welcomes him in her arms, while with his right hand he delicately caresses her face. The two gazes meet, the human nature of their relationship and the vulnerability of the Child Jesus are highlighted here, despite his divine nature.On the golden background we can read the Greek initials of the Madonna and of Jesus, respectively ''Mother of God'' and ''He who is''.On the back of the Yaroslav icon, there is a certificate of guarantee and a brief description of the scene represented. It can be hung with a hook on the back.
