According to legend, in 1579 the Kazan icon manifested itself in a girl's dream indicating its location, after the discovery of it, it was taken to the Greek schismatic church in Kazan, which became famous for the miracles connected to it.
The item is handcrafted by Polish artisans and is painted with tempera on linden wood, covered with gold-plated leaves and aged with Russian pictorial techniques.
