Old beggar sitting, 18 cm Angela Tripi.
The beggar figurine is made by Sicilian artist Angela Tripi in her workshop. She depicts the sitting figure holding a bowl in his hand, awaiting for someone to give him some change. The elderly beggar often wanders the streets of the village, but being able to take a few steps he often sits down, as is shown by his very poor clothes and his sad look. Each nativity character represents a unique sculpture because it is 100% hand made. The faces and expressions are intense and at the same time express harmony, movement and tradition. Tripi's figures are inspired from the ancient Arab world: they are studied and reworked in an appropriate and personal way by the artist with the aim of recreating the magical atmosphere of that time. Adapted for an 18 cm nativity scene. CHARACTERS MAY DIFFER FROM THE PHOTO AS EVERY SCULPTURE IS A UNIQUE PIECE, BY ARTIST'S DECISION.
