The technique used for this Mary Magdalene is called lost wax casting and has been used since the ancient Greek times. The laborious process consists in creating a model in wax that is precise in every detail, with a clay core, which will be immersed in a mold containing foundry sand. Once the wax has melted, the cast in negative produced will be filled by the cast bronze of the statue. The statue can be displayed both indoors and outdoors. The statue is colored with paints that allow it to resist even the outside elements. Bronze, being a living material, over the years (if exposed to the outside) tends to become dark: this characteristic represents the beauty of bronze, which with time creates a unique and special look.
