Fine bronze work of art made by an Italian art foundry specialized in the casting of bronze and in the production of funerary articles.Statue of the Virgin Mary forged using the technique of lost wax casting. It consists in creating a wax model, with a terracotta core, of the sculpture and covering it with a layer of refractory material. At this point it is proceeded by baking, by the outflow of the wax through the pouring channels, and by the introduction of the molten bronze into the cavity left empty by the wax. When the bronze is solidified, the external clay layer is broken, taking the sculpture that is subjected to final finishing processes, elimination of metal smears, smoothing and sanding.With this procedure, only unique statues are obtained, given the loss of the wax model and the clay coating.The Mother Mary statue can be exhibited both indoors and outdoors. The statue is colored with paints that allow it to resist even outside. Bronze, being a living material, over the years (if exposed to the outside) tends to become dark: this characteristic represents the beauty of bronze, which with the advancement of time gives this product a one of a kind aspect.
