Work of Christ with Crown of Thorns is a fine work carried out by an artistic foundry specialized in the casting of bronze and established in the production of funerary items. The technique used for Ecce Homo Bust consists of sand casting, one of the most archaic fusion processes in metal processing. It starts with creating a cast with a refractory material, called foundry earth, with a wooden or resin model of the statue. Then, the molten bronze is poured into the mold which is solidified and ready to be crushed and opened. Once the bronze model is extracted, we proceed to the sanding and finishing phases, completing with the patination and waxing. Bronze, being a living material, over the years (if exposed to the outside elements) tends to darken: this characteristic represents the beauty of bronze, which with the advancement of time gives this product precious connotations and uniqueness.
