Great workmanship made by an Italian art foundry specialized in the casting of bronze and in the creation of funerary items.Statue of Christ in Gethsemane obtained through the technique of lost wax casting in which the sculpture is sculpted on a clay core with wax and covered with a thin layer of foundry sand. Baked in the shape inside a oven, the wax melts and comes out of pre-arranged openings. In the gap left by the wax is cast the molten bronze, which fills it perfectly taking its shape. When the bronze is cooled, the outer layer of clay is broken and the sculpture appears, which is subjected to a final finishing, smoothing and polishing work.With this procedure, only unique statues are obtained, given the loss of the wax model and the clay coating.The Christ bronze statue can be exhibited both indoors and outdoors. The statue is colored with paints that allow it to resist being outside. Bronze, being a living material, over the years (if exposed to the outside) tends to become dark: this characteristic represents the beauty of bronze, which with the advancement of time gives this product a beautiful look.
