This bronze bust of Padre Pio is a fine work carried out by an artistic foundry specialized in the casting of bronze and established in the production of funerary items.
The technique used for this Bust of Padre Pio is that of sand casting, one of the most ancient fusion processes in metal processing. It consists in creating a cast with a special material, called foundry earth, with a wooden or resin model of the statue. Then, the molten bronze is poured into the mold which, after solidifying, will be crushed in order to extract the piece. Once the bronze model is obtained, the final phase of cleaning, surface finishing, coating and waxing is done. Bronze, being a living material, over the years (if exposed to the outside elements) tends to become dark: this characteristic represents the beauty of bronze, which with the advancement of time gives this product connotations precious and unique.
