Vladimirskaya painted wooden matryoshka 25 cm. This orthodox matryoshka contains 7 dolls painted with the Madonna of Vladmirskaya, Jesus Pantocrator, Saint Nicholas and the angel Michael. The main alcove has an inlay on the front arch and a gold-colored cross on the back. On the sides there are paintings of the external naves of a church while in the upper part, therefore the head, the face of Jesus is painted with angels on the sides. Everything was applied in gold leaf which makes the details of the decorations precious and unique. The first doll depicted Our Lady of Vladimirskaya with the purple robe, also known as the one who shows tenderness or mercy. The hand-painted details bring out the most salient features of the faces and clothes. The second alcove contains the doll depicting Christ Pantocrator with the Holy Scriptures in his hand, while the last two dolls depict Saint Nicholas and the angel Michael. This wooden matryoshka was hand painted by highly skilled Russian painters specializing in freehand painting from the miniature school. The actual measurements are 23X10.5 cm. Made in Russia.
