Annunciation icon Russia, hand painted 14x10 cm.The icon is a faithful copy of one of the most famous archetypal originals of the 14th century Annunciation, now located in the Macedonian National Museum in Ohrid.The theme depicted is that of the Annunciation to the Blessed Virgin.The Blessed Virgin seated on a decorated throne placed on the right of the icon welcomes the news announced by the angel who, kneeling, with bursting wings, looks at the Virgin from the left side of the icon.The background is gold, precisely because the icon is plated with gold leaf.It is made according to the rules and principles of the Byzantine-Russian school of icons and is made on a solid linden wood panel measuring 14x10 cm.The box in which it is contained is made of the same material.On the back of the Annunciation icon is attached with a certificate of guarantee with stamp and in the upper part a small hook for hanging.
