Our Lady of Kazan antique Russian icon 22x18cm XIX century.
This icon is linked to a legend dating back to 1579 when this representation of Our Lady Hodigitria of Kazan appeared in a young girl's dream. She indicated the hidden place of miraculous icon, which was then taken to the local Cathedral and became famous for its miracles.
Our Lady is depicted in half-length with the image of Christ over her left arm.
She doesn't show her arms, only Jesus shoes his right hand, with which he is blessing.
