Modern Russian icon of the Holy Trinity of Angels 31x27 cm. The reproduction of the Trinity in the form of this icon shows three angels representing the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. The artist of the original icon, Andrei Rublev, provides visual clues, but the viewer is encouraged to figure out for himself which angel depicts which of the three persons of the Trinity. Angels are all the same, but have different backgrounds. Behind the central angel there is a tree, identified as the Tree of Life, symbol of the Father. Behind the angel on the right there is a mountain, an image of Golgotha, identification of the Passion of the Son. Finally, in the background of the angel on the left it is possible to identify a temple, symbol of the Holy Spirit. There is a bowl on the table: a reference to Christ's sacrifice in the name of humanity. The original of Andrei Rublev's icon is currently located in the Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow. Made with the egg tempera technique, the icon is delivered in an elegant blue box with a satin interior.
