Hand painted Russian icon Holy Family 14x10 cm.This orthodox icon is a faithful copy of one of the most famous original archetypes dating back to the 16th century.The Holy Family icon is made and hand painted (therefore a single piece) according to the principles of the Byzantine-Russian school of icons.It is covered with gold plated leaf and is made on solid linden wood planks.The technique used is the ''craquele'' effect one, in order to simulate an antiqued effect.The icon depicts the Holy Family and the three faces form a triangle, a symbol of perfection and communion.Baby Jesus is blessed by the family and blesses the beholder.The clothes of the three protagonists are red and orange.The item is sold in its box, also in solid linden wood.On the back of the icon, there is a hook in the upper part for hanging, and a guarantee certificate with two stamps.The dimensions of the Holy Family Russian icon is 14x10 cm.
