The figure is made following the old Romanian style, using the lighting technique, which consists in applying plaster first and then dark colors followed finally by light ones on the wooden tablet (lime tree).Our Lady of Kazan is one of the most venerated icons in Russia and in the Orthodox church. A peculiarity is that the Child Jesus is always depicted frontally up to his knees and the blessing hand is the only one visible. The representation is also painted following typically Byzantine criteria.The Kazan icon measures 35x24 cm and is delivered in a blue velvet box including a certification of handmade item and a descriptive caption.
