The orthodox icon of Theotokos Tenderness also known as "Sweet Kissing" is created on solid wood built according to the classic Russian technique that uses transverse beams, to prevent the curvature of the wood over time. The icon is hand-painted using a mixed technique of painting and decoupage and the halos are painted with various shades of gold, similar to pure gold.
