Russian icon painted decoupage, Mary Breastfeeding. Measures 17x13 cm.
This beautiful solid wood religious icon was designed and built according to ancient Russian techniques with transverse beams, which help prevent the curvature of the wood over time. The orthodox icon of the Nursing Madonna is colored by hand through the mixed technique of painting and decoupage. The halos are painted with various shades of gold, similar to pure gold.

Michele F.8/20/2020Bellissima e molto interessante. Il volto pallido dei soggetti suggerisce l'ascetismo. È una icona che eleva interiormente. Quella di dimensioni più ridotte è ugualmente bella ma il colore dei volti è diciamo nella norma. Nessun difetto.
