The orthodox icon of Our Lady of Smolensk is created on solid wood, it is produced with ancient Russian techniques using transverse beams, to avoid the curvature of the wood over time. The religious icon is hand-painted with a mixed technique of painting and decoupage and the halos are painted with pure gold colors.
