In the XII century, the son of the spouses brought the icon to Smolensk, which then received the name of the Smolensk Mother of God.The icon corresponds to the iconographic type ''Odigitria''. The Mother of God is represented frontally with her head slightly bowed towards the Child who is supported by the Virgin's left hand, while the right hand points to the Son.The Smolensk icon was created on a solid linden wood panel with egg tempera, is shipped accompanied by a box set and an appraisal made by an expert.
