The Russian icon is embellished with a basma, that is a metal riza composed of several pieces secured directly to the icon.The icon depicts the sixteen Great Feasts of the Orthodox liturgical calendar, that is, the most important solemnities of the year. The feasts are depicted in squares that embrace the central section, occupied by the most important feast, namely the Easter of Resurrection.Easter is divided into several episodes that translate the theological and biblical message of Easter.
