Pectoral Cross of Hope Tifernate Workshop Jubilee 2025The Cross of Hope, designed by Stefano Lazzari of the Tifernate Workshop, is a unique crucifix with a double-sided design that symbolizes values and themes inspired by the Jubilee 2025, under the motto "Pilgrims of Hope."
This pectoral cross, handcrafted in Italy and paired with a brass "fox tail" chain, draws inspiration from the layout of St. Peter’s Basilica and Square. The chain is available in two lengths: 80 cm or 90 cm.
The brass crucifix, measuring 10 cm in height, depicts Christ on the Cross on the front. He is shown not in suffering but as one who serenely gave His life for humanity, with Mount Golgotha, the site of the Crucifixion, at His feet.
On the back, a pilgrim is symbolically depicted entering St. Peter's Square in Rome, marking the culmination of a journey of hope and salvation, representing the individual path toward redemption.
For its creation, Tifernate Workshop entrusted sculptor Fausto Schirato for the modeling and foundry expert Marino Vigolo for the casting. Schirato meticulously hand-sculpted every detail of the plaster model with precision, while the selected casting technique was the lost-wax process, regarded as the finest, where each piece is crafted individually.
After preparing a rubber mold to create wax prototypes, these are coated in plaster within a cylinder, which is then baked at high temperatures until the wax melts. Molten brass is subsequently poured into the cylinder to form the cross.
The resulting piece is then refined and engraved. Each item is individually painted and burnished, with patination enhancing the contrasts of the design. Finally, a protective coating is applied to preserve the piece over time, ensuring the eternal significance of its meaning.
The cross is presented in an elegant lined red case, individually numbered, and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity with a QR code that, when scanned, provides additional information about the Cross and the Tifernate Workshop
