Neapolitan nativity figurine depicting a kneeling beggar, suitable for a 8cm (3,15in) nativity scene.
The character is made in Neaples, capital of the nativity scene tradition; the figurine is completely handmade, made of real terracotta, dressed in cloth, finely shaped and treated. The limited availability of the fabrics and the handmade craftsmanship result in a product that is always slightly different and therefore unique; a really valuable figurine for nativity scenes.

Non era in condizioni perfette, bensì vi era un foro centrale ben evidente e una rigatura che da là si dipartiva, ma non avevo tempo per effettuare il reso e aspettare un altro cero; per fortuna ho potuto mascherare il tutto attraverso la pittura che vi ho steso sopra. Mi pare che sia scadente come fattura: quando vi ho inserito i grani, per quanto sia stato delicato ad inserirli avvitandoli, la cera in superficie si è sollevata in modo consistente.
