Vase seller, made of terracotta.
Vase seller, a young woman selling her clay creations. She must be heard, she yells loudly in the chaotic market. She works hard to make and sell the vases. The nativity scene statue is made of terracotta, cloth and hand painted to the smallest detail. Angela Tripi manages to create shepherds characterized by an extraordinary wealth of details, charisma and expressive strength.A very important peculiarity is that the statues of Angela Tripi have completely formed bodies. Normally, the terracotta statues of the traditional nativity scene, for example the Neapolitan ones, are built starting from a skeleton covered with fabrics to which the head, hands and feet are applied. Instead, the statues of Tripi have terracotta bodies "dressed" in cloth. In her work, the artist tells a story: each statue depicts a specific moment in life, telling us a complete story with every statue.Details such as; tense muscles, tendons, expression lines and hands (open and with well-defined fingers) often emerge clearly.Angela Tripi succeeds in giving each shepherd an amazing realism, never before seen and unrepeatable: her shepherds are unique. The statue is adapted for a 18 cm scene.
