Scene arrival of Melchior, 30 cm A. Tripi nativity.
This scene created by Sicilian artist Angela Tripi, depicting the arrival of Magi Melchior to the stable of our Savior. Melchior is dressed with his elegant and sumptuous robes, rich in details and gold-colored decorations. He is about to descend from his elephant helped by his servants. The tired-eyed animal has traveled extensively with the weight of the heavy throne of the Magi on its back. To help and venerate the King along his journey were 4 servants: the two women are already on the ground, one with a bucket in their hands to look after the elephant, the other one to unroll the carpet on which the King's feet will rest on a few seconds later. The two servants in the scene are: next to the Magi on the elephant, careful to protect him, the second under the ladder looking closely at every minimum movement of the master and keeps his mouth ajar as if to give him directions. All the statues are handmade, in terracotta and cloth, then meticulously painted by hand. They are beautiful works of art made with skill and attention at Angela Tripi's artistic workshop. Normally the statues of the traditional nativity scene, for example the Neapolitan one, are made with a skeleton made with fabrics and with the ends in terracotta (the head, hands and feet). The nativity statues of Angela Tripi instead have completely formed bodies: they are modeled naked and subsequently dressed with fabrics and small jewels. In her works, the artist tells a story: each statue is depicted in a moment of their life, giving us to the opportunity to understand the existence of a before and after moment. Angela Tripi succeeds in giving each nativity character an amazing realism, never seen before and unrepeatable: no two pieces are ever the same, forever unique. Adapted for a 30 cm nativity. CHARACTERS MAY DIFFER FROM THE PHOTO AS EVERY SCULPTURE IS A UNIQUE PIECE, BY CHOICE FROM THE ARTIST.
