The shepherd knew that Jesus, the son of God, was born in an old stable. Full of joy and curiosity, he starts his journey to bring a gift to the Holy Family. Handcrafted in the artistic workshop of Angela Tripi, in terracotta and cloth, with great skill and attention.Angela Tripi, a Sicilian artist, creates shepherds characterized by an extraordinary wealth of details, charisma and expression.A fundamental characteristic of her statues is that they have completely formed bodies, made of terracotta and subsequently "dressed" in cloth. While typical terracotta nativity statues, for example the Neapolitan one, are built from a skeleton covered with fabrics to which the ends are applied. In her works, the artist tells a story: each statue is depicted at a specific moment in t heir life, telling us a story, a before and an after of that moment.Details such as; tense muscles, tendons, expression lines and hands (open and with well-defined fingers) emerge clearly. The artist succeeds in giving each nativity statue an unrepeatable realism: the figurines will never be equal to each other, rending each one unique. The standing statue is adapted for an 18 cm scene.
