Beggar sitting outstretched arm in terracotta for 18 cm Angela Tripi nativity scene. The beggar is sitting near a small shed to be able to shelter from the elements. From the man's face you can see the pain and sadness he feels. Despite this, with his eyes he manages to convey the dignity of those who are forced to beg for necessity. His right hand is stretched out towards passers-by looking for help.
The terracotta and fabric statues are made and painted completely by hand at Angela Tripi's atelier in Italy. The statuettes are real works of art characterized by an impressive wealth of details and by the attention and care in finishing. Angela Tripi's works of art have a fully formed bodies. They are created with terracotta and then subsequently dressed. These distinctive elements give the statue a stunning realism. While normally the terracotta statues of the traditional nativity scene are built starting from a skeleton covered with clothes to which the terracotta extremities of the limbs (head, hands, feet) are applied.Details emerge clearly such as tense muscles, tendons, expression lines, and expressive hands.Looking at these works, we realize that there is a story behind these characters. It is as if they were photographed at a particular moment in their life. The statues are unique, no two are the same. Each nativity statue is signed by Angela Tripi.
